Retreat with Rev. Jiro Andy Afable, Early Light Zendo, October 28-30, 2011

This retreat is jointly sponsored by Ka Shin Zendo and Burning House Zendo and will be held at the Burning House Zendo location in Lutherville, MD.

Jiro Andy Afable, Abbott of Early Light Zendo in central Massachusetts, is a recognized teacher and lineage holder in the Rinzai school of Zen.  A longtime member and leader of Ka Shin Zendo, he was also the vice abbot and teacher at Dai Bosatsu Zendo in Livingston Manor, N.Y. He has practiced and taught in Massachusetts since 2003. From his website: “He recognizes the pitfalls of a facile eclecticism or a narrow view of tradition. He senses the emergence of a Zen movement in the United States that is converging with the best impulses and values of Americans and looks forward to teaching Zen in Massachusetts as the Buddha Dharma moves forward in this century.

The retreat will include dharma talks and personal interviews for those interested. The cost for the retreat is $50.

Schedule

Friday, October 28: 7PM to 9PM
Saturday, October 29: 8AM to 9PM (optional continued zazen until midnight)
Sunday, October 30: 8AM to 1PM

Participants will arrange for food on their own.
